The St Mary Magdelene C of E School is a brand new ‘all-through’ school in Greenwich. The peninsular campus will provide spaces for over 1600 pupils from the age of 3 up to the age of 19. The school is a new first-rate educational environment that is inspiring, nourishing, safe, secure and connected to the outdoors and to the surroundings.
AAS Ltd were employed by Atlantic Contracts to supply and install acoustic ‘class A’ solid oak timber slatted panelling to the chapel and breakout areas. The panelling is designed to provide sound absorption and also to provide an aesthetic backdrop. Providing timber slatted panels to the Chapel was the most challenging element. The back wall to the chapel was curved and incorporated windows – The timber slatted panels in this area were predominantly built on site with each slat fitted individually.
